Frequently Asked Questions – The Secret Buddha Advisor

Welcome to the heart of The Secret Buddha experience.
Our goal is simple: to help you live more consciously, act with purpose, and find peace in the process.
This page explains how the Advisor works, what it can and cannot do, how your data is handled, and how you can make the most of your journey.

What is The Secret Buddha Advisor?
The Advisor is an intelligent life guide integrated into The Secret Buddha platform.
It combines the clarity of structured coaching with the calm of mindfulness and the power of modern AI.
You can ask about personal growth, purpose, resilience, stress management, relationships, habits, motivation, and reflection.
It is designed to guide—not preach—helping you rediscover what’s already within you.

What can the Advisor do for me?

  • Guide you through self-improvement, awareness, and motivation techniques.
  • Help you clarify your goals, track your reflections, and suggest small, actionable steps.
  • Provide structure and encouragement for your personal growth journey.
  • Offer tips on mindfulness, breathing, focus, habit building, and emotional balance.
  • Store your insights, key facts, and action plans (if you grant permission) so that each session builds on the previous one.

It’s like having a private coach, philosopher, and companion—all within your browser.

What can’t the Advisor do?

  • It cannot replace a doctor, therapist, or lawyer.
  • It does not offer crisis intervention or emergency support.
  • It cannot make life decisions for you or guarantee outcomes.
  • It should never be used as a substitute for professional advice in health, safety, or legal matters.

The Advisor helps you reflect, not diagnose; empower, not instruct.

How does memory and personalization work?
When you are logged in, you can choose whether the Advisor may remember your journey.
Once you accept personalization, the Advisor securely stores three types of data:

  • Summaries — short reflections of your past conversations, focusing on your progress and intentions.
  • Key Facts — stable insights about your preferences, goals, or values.
  • Plan — your current direction or next steps, editable anytime.

This memory allows the Advisor to respond with deeper understanding each time you return.
You can pause, delete, or download your data at any moment.

How do I manage, export, or erase my data?
Transparency and control are fundamental principles of The Secret Buddha.
You can manage your data in two simple ways:

  1. Open the Advisor chat and click the ¤ Settings icon.
  2. Choose one of the following options:
    • Download my data — instantly exports all stored summaries, key facts, and plan as a .json file.
    • Erase my data — permanently deletes all stored information. This action cannot be undone.

You can also type /export or /erase all confirm directly in the chat.
Once confirmed, your data will be securely deleted from our system immediately.

How private and secure is my information?
All stored data remains within your user account and never leaves our servers unless you explicitly export it.
We do not share, sell, or analyze your personal information.
The Advisor is designed according to strict European data protection standards (GDPR).
You can read the full privacy details on the Privacy Policy page.

How long is data stored?
By default, conversation summaries are automatically deleted after 180 days.
You can erase everything manually at any time.

What happens if the service is unavailable?
If the OpenAI service is temporarily unreachable (for example due to internet or rate limits),
the Advisor automatically enters Lite Mode.
In Lite Mode, you will still receive local mindfulness and self-coaching tips.
Once the full service resumes, all functionality returns automatically.

Which languages does the Advisor support?
The Advisor is fully fluent in English and German.
It can also understand and respond in many other languages—such as French, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch—although English and German currently provide the best results.
You can switch languages freely at any time by simply starting to type in the new one.

How often is the Advisor improved?
The system continuously evolves with new mindfulness content, improved phrasing, and deeper context understanding.
We periodically release updates (e.g., Version 0.8.4, 0.8.5, etc.) that refine responsiveness, privacy handling, and creative tone.
All updates are applied automatically without data loss.

How can I make the most of my sessions?

  • Ask natural, specific questions — just as you would with a thoughtful coach.
  • Keep a steady rhythm: short sessions daily often work better than long, infrequent ones.
  • Review your Active Plan occasionally to realign your goals.
  • Trust your intuition; the Advisor reflects your own wisdom back to you.

Who can I contact for support or feedback?
We value every message from our users.
For technical support, privacy concerns, or general feedback, please reach out through the Contact page.
We aim to respond to all requests within 48 hours.

Final note
The Secret Buddha Advisor is built to empower you — not to impress you.
It exists to remind you that clarity, peace, and strength are already part of who you are.
Our technology simply helps you see them more clearly.

Existentialists is a philosophical movement that emphasizes individual existence, freedom, and choice. Existentialists believe that individuals are responsible for creating their own meaning and purpose in life, as opposed to relying on external sources such as religion or societal norms. Key concepts in existentialism include:

1. Existence precedes essence: Existentialists assert that individuals exist first and then define themselves through their actions and choices.

2. Freedom and responsibility: Existentialists emphasize the freedom of individuals to make their own choices, but also highlight the responsibility that comes with this freedom. They believe that individuals must take responsibility for their actions and their impact on the world.

3. Anxiety and authenticity: Existentialists often discuss the experience of anxiety that arises from the awareness of one’s freedom and responsibility. They advocate for authenticity, which involves being true to oneself and living in accordance with one’s own values and beliefs.

4. Absurdity: Existentialists contend that the universe is inherently meaningless, and that individuals must create their own meaning in a world that lacks inherent purpose or order.

5. Authenticity: Existentialists encourage individuals to live authentically by making choices that align with their true selves, rather than conforming to societal expectations or external influences.

Overall, existentialism emphasizes the importance of individual experience, choice, and responsibility in creating meaning and purpose in life.
